The "moon-viewing" or otsukimi (お月見) in Japanese is a festival that is held every year in Japan. This festival started in the Heian period's aristocracy that received their influence from the Chinese traditions of celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is celebrated from the 15th to the 18th day of the 8th lunar month, by decorating one's home with susuki (Japanese pampas grass) and eating tsukimi dango.
